In efforts to keep our records up to date within the Office of Human Resources we are asking that any employee of Hudson Valley Community College and the Employment Opportunity Center that served in active duty in the Army, Marines, Navy, Air Force or the Coast Guard of the United States, and has been honorably discharged or separated from service under honorable conditions please complete the attached EEO-1 Self-Identification Form and also provide a copy of your DD214. This will ensure our records are up to date and also provide the necessary documentation needed to observe future Veterans Day under Section 63, which is mentioned below.
Under Section 63 of the Public Officers Law any College employee that served in active duty in the Army, Marines, Navy, Air Force, or Coast Guard of the United States has been honorably discharged or separated from service under honorable conditions, is entitled to a leave of absence with pay on Veterans Day. Other individuals who may not have served in that capacity may be entitled to such leave of absence if they otherwise satisfy the criteria set forth in Section 63.
All EEO-1 Self-Identification forms and DD214’s can be submitted to HR@hvcc.edu or dropped off in person to the Office of Human Resources which is located in the Administration Building Room 140.
Please note, if you wish to not identify your veteran status this form is not mandatory, but voluntary. In the future, if you wish to identify your veteran status please contact the Office of Human Resources at 518-629-4552.
The Veterans Resource and Outreach Center (VETROC) which is located in the Siek Campus Center is always looking to expand awareness of the center and would like to invite all employee’s, especially our Veterans to be involved in committees and events within the VETROC.
